Wine Vat Mounting Cases

The Issue

A local production winery required mounting cases for wine vats supported upon stainless steel frames. They required several hundred and had engaged a local rural engineer to complete the task, but it became clear it was more than he was equipped for. Each mounting case required a certified weld before it could be used, slowing down the rate at which they could be produced by the local engineer.

The Action

Agnew stepped in to help out the local engineer, and undertake the certified welds required, to ensure each mounting case was up to its task. Agnew are also specialists in stainless steel purge welding which is a technique used for food-grade installations. Weld Purging uses inert gas to prevent oxidation on the inside of pipes and seals off sections to prevent contamination during the pipe welding process.

“The weld that connects the vat with its supporting frame needs to be a certified weld and as we are experienced in specialised welding for the food industry - it made sense to have us on the job,” says Brian.

The Result

The required number of certified wine vat mounting cases were made and installed within the required timeframe. The certified welds ability of Agnew Engineering proved pivotal in achieving this task, efficiently and compliantly.
